What Happens in therapy?
Step 1: Building awareness around the issue and how it impacts you daily
Step 2: Building your confidence by gaining tools for coping with the issue
Step 3: Building your ability take action by making small changes over time to get you to where you want to be.
These steps are executed by the following:
Psychological Assessment & Evaluation- This occurs before and during your first session to support the therapist and client in gaining further insight on the purpose of therapy
Establish Goals for Treatment-This occurs as the beginning stage and evolves as the client makes progress or as the client's priorities for treatment change.
Build Rapport & Explore-This occurs in the first therapy session and continues to evolve throughout the therapeutic relationship. In this stage the client and therapist learn how to work together as two become one collaborative team.
